What your group is to do

Project Topics must address an aspect of one of the following: Migrations of refugees and others, ethnic/religious conflicts, or the impact of technology (including chemical and biological technologies)

The teacher will assign 5 different groups to work on this project. In each group there will be 5 or less students. Every person in the group will be assigned a role they are responsible for. This is a cooperative learning project. Students will be graded on their individual participation and also will receive a group grade. Roles you may be assigned are:

1) reader
2) recorder
3) project manager
4) task manager
5) encourager in participation
6) summarizer
7) presenter

Each group will develop a 30 minute oral presentation that must be recorded as the audio for an accompanying PowerPoint presentation that will be converted to a YouTube video
Each group member must submit a short paper detailing their involvement in the project.
Videos will be presented in class 30 days after the assignment is made.
Presentations must include an overview of the issue, a description of how the issue impacts life in the U.S. (both positive and negative impacts must be discussed) and a description of why the issue is important (even to teenagers).
All group members must participate in the oral presentation.
